Even windows are rated according to their energy performance. Don't get single glazed, double or even triple glazed windows insulate better and cut down on noise pollution.
If you don't want to change your windows you can take some simple steps at improving their efficiency by installing blinds or curtains or by adding reflective film to block out heat.
