When things decay where there's oxygen they release carbon dioxide. If they decay without oxygen (eg in a landfill) they release methane, which is 200 times worse for global warming. Just chuck it all in a heap behind a bush. If it starts to go smelly, add bread, paper or sawdust.
Once it's rotted down, use it for potted plants, and boy will they grow.
