We don't have the staff to put on glitzy events with Hollywood stars, but what we do have is you: You can hold an event in your community, like a beach cleanup day, neighborhood tree planting, or an electronics recycling day. You could also hold a fundraising event — bake sale, holiday party, etc. — and donate the proceeds to GreenAroundYou. All you need to do is decide what type of event to hold then advertise it around your community: Pin up flyers, list it on Craigslist, submit it to local newsletters or newspapers.
If you're collecting contributions, simply grab a jar or can out of the recycle bin, cut a slit in the lid, and label it "GreenAroundYou.org donations." In your event description and at the event explain briefly what GreenAroundYou.org is all about and tell people where the donation jar is located.
